Private Transfer from Manila to Puerto Galera

Our private air-conditioned minivan will collect you and your luggage from Manila airport, or your hotel and transport you in comfort to Batangas where your speedboat will be waiting for you.

There are currently 2 speedboat services available:

  • Hap & Go – A Private speedboat for up to 10 passengers and luggage – direct to resort
  • Mindoro Sprinter – A scheduled and ticketed service for 1-22 passengers including luggage which is great for small groups or individuals and can be privately booked for larger groups – docks at a nearby resort.

After boarding the boat, the trip across to Puerto Galera takes approximately 40  minutes.

The VIP Express Transport Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, but please note:

Boats are only allowed to cross from Batangas to Puerto Galera between 6am and 6pm. If you want to arrive in Puerto Galera the same day as your flight arrival, your scheduled flight arrival time should be before 12 noon, otherwise you may not be able to reach the boat in time to make a daytime crossing.

During bad weather the services of speedboats, fast craft and ferries can be restricted or cancelled, however the Scandi team will work to ensure your transport is as smooth as possible.

From Manila airport Terminal 1

If you request that we pick you up at the airport, this is how you will find your driver:

When you come out of the arrival terminal, you cross the pavement, and on the other side there are tunnels going off to the left and right that go down to the level below. Both the tunnel on the left and on the right go down to that same level, but you should take the one on the right. When you get down you will arrive at a platform from which you will be picked up. Go in front of the DUTY FREE Store then above there are alphabetical signs, eg “A,B,C,D”. Place yourself under the one that includes an “M,N,O,P” and keep an eye out for a chauffeur  wearing an Scandi Divers grey polo shirt and holding a Scandi Divers signage and/or your name on it.

The image below shows what you will see when exiting international arrivals. Follow the arrow to the right to meet your driver.

Getting from Manila to Puerto Galera by Public Transport

To arrive in Puerto Galera the same day as you land in Manila, your scheduled flight arrival time should be before 12 noon.

Taxis are plentiful in Metro Manila, we also recommend ride-sharing app Grab as an alternative to Taxis.

Public non-stop buses to Batangas Pier run every 30-60 minutes from the JAM liner bus terminal in Buendia Bus Station (10-20 minutes from the airport by taxi). The bus takes 2 hours to reach Batangas Pier.

For those guests who have been to Puerto Galera in the past you may remember that it was possible to get a wooden passenger boat directly from Batangas to Sabang Beach, due to a government modernisation drive these vessels have ceased operations and have been replaced with larger vessels servicing the nearby ports of Muelle (Pronounced Mul-ye) or Balatero Port.

Smaller fast craft on the Muelle route have trips averaging 1 hour 15 minutes with larger fast craft on the Balatero Route averaging 1 hour or less. There are also Roll-on-roll-off ferries (RORO) to Balatero which take around 2 hours and these may be your only option in times of high wind. Scandi recommends taking trips to Balatero since these vessels are larger and more comfortable than the Muelle craft.

There are separate ticketing booths for each boat operator, check carefully the departure times and details such as air conditioning if you require it. Some vessels have standard, business and first class options but most do not. After purchasing your boat ticket you will need to go to a different booth to pay your Batangas port terminal fee (30 pesos) before heading through security to the departure gates. There are porters available should you wish, there are also fixers who will offer to arrange your tickets for you in return for a tip however it’s easy to get your tickets and you don’t need this service.

As of September 2019 the advertised schedule is as below but you should be aware the schedule is fluid and often subject to change.
