Thanks to everyone who attended the Scandi Divers Resort New Year’s Eve party. The party was held at the Sky Bar, and was a fantastic evening for all, with music, dancing, fire dancers and fireworks.
A great success and we hope to see you all again next year!
It’s been a hectic xmas and new year for us all at Scandi Divers, so it took us a bit longer than we planned to get our photos organised and published, but better late than never!
The Scandi Staff Xmas party was a rousing success, and a great night for everyone. There was food, music, dancing, karaoke, xmas presents, and some of the male staff even got dressed in drag before singing! (which had everyone in stitches)
Big thanks to all the wonderful Scandi staff for their hard work in 2013. We wish them all the best for 2014!
Congratulations to Terry Hudson and Tyson Hudson for completing their PADIEFR (Emergency First Responder), even though they had a big night out the previous evening, and were feeling pretty rough!
Jenny Fischer is a good friend of us all at Scandi divers, and up until last year was a full-time diving instructor here at the resort. Sadly for us, we lost our dear Jenny when she moved to Hong Kong to have a baby 🙁
We were delighted when Jenny returned to visit us late last year along with boyfriend Nat, and beautiful baby Amy.
Jenny and Nat of course enjoyed some scuba diving while they were here, and Amy indulged in some gurgling and making cute faces 😉
We wish them all the very best for their new life in Hong Kong, and hope to them all again soon.
Congratulations to Richard Reed for successfully completing his PADI Open Water course with Scandi Divers Resort instructor Dennis Frandsen.
The PADI Open Water course is the most popular of all the scuba courses available. After only a few days of training you will be qualified to dive with a dive buddy anywhere in the world!
The course includes confined water skills training, open water skills and an academic section where you will learn all about scuba diving theory and the equipment scuba divers use.
Once you have qualified as an Open Water Diver, you can further improve your knowledge and skills with the PADI Advanced Open Water course, as well as many Speciality courses (such as night diving, navigation, wreck and many more)
Thanks to our resort manager / dive instructor Terry O’Dowd for catching this video of a Sea Snake eating a Garden Eel. Quite amazing how quickly it is able to devour the eel!
Sea snakes and countless other incredible sea creatures are in abundance in the water of Puerto Galera. You will be amazed by the quantity and diversity of tropical marine life to been seen while scuba diving here. If you are an underwater photographer, Puerto Galera should be at the top of your list of places to visit for a scuba diving holiday!
Below is a slideshow of some great underwater shots we got this december. Photos were taken at our favourite dive sites around Sabang and Big La Laguna.
You can see why Puerto Galera is a favourite with underwater photographers! Puerto Galera has a diversity of macro marine life to rival anywhere in the world!
